Poor air quality can result in infertility—yes, this has been proven by several studies. Instead of ignoring this risk factor, it is necessary to address this issue. One ready solution is to minimize exposure by using an advanced air purification system.
As we are all aware, regular exposure to air pollution, by breathing poor quality air, can lead to several health disorders and physiological dysfunctions, including reproduction. It is now been proven by many studies that long-term exposure to polluted air, which contains the toxins, particulate matters, and other impure agents in the air can lead to infertility in both males and females.
How Does Air Pollution Affect the Reproduction Process?
Many of the fertility disorders are associated with sperm quality. It is clinically proven that pollutants like SOx, NOx, total volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particulate matters (PM2.5, PM10, PM0.1) are responsible for the release of reactive oxygen species, leading to DNA fragmentation. Many research papers have highlighted how the fragmented sperm DNA can lead to fertility issues in case of long-term exposure to air pollutants.
Findings of Some Recent Studies:
Recently, a report published in The Guardian found that people who had been exposed to a moderately higher level of air pollution, carried a 20% higher risk of infertility. The study was carried out on a sample size of 18,000 couples in China.
The study was not designed to find out how the pollution particles affect the reproduction process, but the adverse effect on sperm production was confirmed.
Another research carried out on the American population, came to the conclusion that women having been exposed to air borne toxins particles were found to have a reduced number of mature eggs in their ovaries. The study was conducted on a sample size of 600 women who used to visit the US infertility clinic.
Solutions are Just Around the Corner:
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 9 out of 10 people are breathing the air that can potentially damage every organ in our body. Poor air quality is certainly a threat to humanity, but this is a problem that can be easily solved. People across the world are buying high-end air purifiers equipped with high grade HEPA Filters for their homes, to protect themselves from the ill effects of the air pollution.
Air treatment systems have emerged as one of the most effective and innovative solutions to create an environment wherein we can breathe clean and healthy air. The indoor air contains indistinguishable polluting agents like mould, pet dander, dust mites, chemicals, particulate matters, etc. that can lead to numerous respiratory problems and allergies.
Though there are many options, (developed using HEPA 14 filter as per ISO 50U with efficiency of 99.999%), the complete air purification system, seems to have everything needed to be effective in filtering and neutralising the harmful pollutants. It is even superior to the medical-grade requirements, and is capable of trapping particles as small as 0.1 microns.
This is a state-of-the-art air purification system that is equipped with multiple effective filtration technologies like washable anti-bacterial pre-filter coated with nano-silver, carbon filter zeolite, deodorizing filer, new UVC technology, and ioniser.
When compared to other regular air purifiers, an Air Purification System is a highly efficient machine to comprehensively purify indoor air in homes, offices or any other closed facility. In the time of Covid-19, a person should never settle for an air purifier with the efficiency less than 99.999% of filtration.
An advanced air purification system (and not a simple air purifier) for home and office, can be an instant effective solution to keep the negative impact of air pollution at bay. Until a global framework for controlling air pollution comes into existence, we can at least get this solution to ensure the indoor air is healthy.
